Perspective: "Some see a weed, others see a wish"

We all know the saying about whether the glass is half full or half empty and we are always told to look at things from other perspectives. Well, that's exactly what this blog post will be about. This world is full of evil and evil-doers and while I wish all of these bad things would never occur they do,  keep in mind while reading this I am not saying it's something that should be accepted, I'm simply talking about my personally perspective about MY situation and about general situations.
I've learned that by changing your perspective, your life changes. You become happier and the small failures don't become overwhelming to you as they would have before. It doesn't make life perfect and it won't mean you won't have bad times or be depressed at times, but it does a lot more than people give it credit for.
Theres a quote that comes up a lot that says "If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you look at it" and that is a huge and monumental point. I can't change what happened to me as a child and I can't change my anxiety or depression, but I can change the way I seen it. I realized all of the positives that came along with it (though there are many disadvantages). The biggest positive is that it made who I am, I wouldn't be who I am without the events that unfolded and I wouldn't be going to college for what I am going for, I wouldn't be writing this blog, I wouldn't have met my husband, I wouldn't be fascinated in mental health, and the list goes on and on. So while what happened sucks and while the consequences that are here now (anxiety/depression) suck also, I also have good things that came out in my life that wouldn't have had the opportunity had it not happened.
Perspective is a huge tool that we have in our life and while it's not always easy to do it is something we can adjust. Another quote that I love was written by a physicist Erwin Scrodinger, it states "The task is...not so much to see what no-one has yet seen; but to think what nobody has yet thought about that which every body sees." This quote is of utmost importance to me, it proves that thinking out of the box and in ways that are not common is important in the world. While many thoughts and opinions are common, remember that sometimes there is more to the eye and that it is okay to look deeper.
Your perspective of things can shape the way you live, think and so much more. It's super important to remember that by shaping your perspective you can improve your own life and well-being.

This is why I chose the title "Some see a weed, others see a wish."The way you look and think about things is imperative to your own life and self-care. So think about the dandelion 'weed' and adjust your perspective as needed.

Embracing Imperfection ~ Scars

There are many different posts I can make about "Embracing Imperfection" that's why I added a part to the title regarding this specific post Scars . We all can recognize what an external scar on the skin is; we've all fallen a few times and gotten a scrape that turns into a scar, in some cases the scar fades over time and in other cases they don't. But no-one really takes into account our internal scarring...why is that? Now I don't mean literally inside our body like scar tissue from a surgery, I mean our emotional scarring. The scarring that is so evidently present to us but no-one else sees it. If you take a look at the definition of a scar (just a scar in general) it, of course goes over other details but it also says that it is the process of wound repair and that it is a natural occurrence in the healing process . Let me repeat this...it is the process of wound repair and a natural occurrence in the healing process. What is the difference in that defi...

Rare Jewel of a Day

As a person living with anxiety and depression you get use to having things occur on a daily bases. Most of the time you go through the day and have become so accustom to feeling a certain way that you don't even NOTICE it; it becomes the norm. When you discuss how it's like living with anxiety and/or depression you discuss the bad days, not the everyday life that it affected by it because you don't realize that you are affected by it by most days. You start to notice this when you have the rare, amazing day where you feel good. You feel like you had ten cups of coffee (or energy drink for those that don't do coffee) because you are up and aware, you are not feeling down and tiered or nervous about everything. You are aware of everything going on in a different way; in a way that you aren't in your everyday life. What causes these day to occur? What do you do when they do? This is what I'm going to discuss in this post. What causes these days to randomly occur...
